Soulanges

Learn more

The gateway to Quebec via Highway 401 from Ontario, this area follows the St. Lawrence River to the Ottawa River. Its history is marked by its strategic geographic position and the Soulanges Canal, which was the first canal built in North America. Crossed by a bicycle path of more than 35 km, the last section of the route verte number 5 before crossing the Ontario border, this sector is, without a doubt, an ideal destination to discover by bicycle.
Discover the flavours of the region by visiting vineyards, farms, maple groves and other agri-tourism treasures, in addition to the charming cafés and bistros along the way. In the summer, the Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site will transport you into the impressive history of the site, while the Saint-Zotique beach and the two mouths of the canal come alive and become festive places to enjoy the beautiful season.

The Mountain sector is distinguished mainly by its mountain, a true nature playground for residents and visitors. We love it for its hiking trails, its rich and unique fauna and flora, the many species of birds that can be observed, its slopes perfect for skiing in winter and mountain biking in summer, its hebertism and zip line courses and its splendid views of the region. The mountain is also home to a sanctuary visited by thousands of pilgrims each year.
