About

Explore Vaudreuil-Soulanges was created following a restructuring of the tourism industry by the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and its economic development organization (DEV Vaudreuil-Soulanges).

With a mandate to promote and develop tourism, DEV decided to create a brand new website to showcase the many attractions in the region.

This site lets visitors, citizens and businesses discover what to do, where to eat and where to sleep in this vast and charming region. It is impossible today to promote oneself without a presence on the web. This platform offers businesses operating on the territory greater visibility throughout the region and beyond.

Mission

The website came together thanks to a consulting committee dedicated to:

  • Promoting Vaudreuil-Soulanges to a diverse clientele while focusing on the region’s tourist attractions.
  • Encouraging local partners and attractions to collaborate on promoting and developing new and exciting projects.
  • Providing a recognized platform to maximize the visibility of regional attractions.
  • Enhancing the tools used to welcome visitors to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area by providing local businesses with a complete and up-to-date showcase of the region.

On the road between Montreal and Toronto, and Montreal and Ottawa, Vaudreuil-Soulanges offers visitors a multitude of choices that have made the local tourism industry one of its most important economic drivers.

The organization

Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges’ mission is to foster regional dynamism and economic growth by providing support and value-added alternative financing and by initiating major collaborative projects, with the goal of being a generator of regional values and sustainable prosperity.

At the heart of regional development, DEV's dynamic, qualified and dedicated team provides guidance and support at every stage of a business project. The entrepreneurial, industrial, retail, municipal, tourism and even social economy sectors can all take advantage of the DEV team’s expertise to propel their projects forward.

ATTRACTIONS

One of the core values that inspires us is openness. We believe that taking a broad and inclusive approach to tourism, by integrating commerce, culture and citizens, is the key to success that will set Vaudreuil-Soulanges apart from other tourist destinations in Quebec and beyond.

In line with this collaborative vision, each tourist attraction acts as a partner and an ambassador for the region of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The idea is for all the various tourism stakeholders to unite around a common goal; we believe that this mutual engagement, rather than the traditional membership model, is fundamental to achieving success.

If your business has a tourist vocation or if you think it might be of interest to visitors, you are invited to contact us at info@explorevs.com to find out about opportunities for visibility on tourismevaudreuil-soulanges.com.

REGIONAL PARTNERS

A tourist region as diverse and dynamic as Vaudreuil-Soulanges relies on the close collaboration of a large number of partners from the region and beyond. Here are a few, from both near and far, who contribute to the promotion of our beautiful region!

And here are some of our neighbours! Nestled between Ontario and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Soulanges enjoys a close working relationship with the surrounding regions.

Logo

A vibrant, thriving region demands an image that reflects its energy and rhythms. We came up with a strong, striking symbol in vivid colours that evoke the region’s vitality and celebrate the cultural diversity of our community. The dominant triangular shapes suggest the unique and distinct shape of the territory of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

Juxtaposing the ‘V’ and the ‘S’ allows us to read VS in any direction. Lines extend north, south, east and west to express the accessibility and openness of the citizens of a region that has the wind in its sails. Following on from this idea, the design for the logo was partly inspired by kites and flags, both of which have the ability to take flight in the presence of wind. But they are not unique in being able to draw power from nature: so do human beings! The silhouette of the human form is an emblematic figure that thrives in harmony with its stimulating and lively environment.

After much discussion, sharing and reflection, we created a brand that will be hard not to notice yet easy to embrace. It's now up to the region to imagine the rest!
