Tina Struthers, textile and visual artist
Vernissage on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm
Meeting-exchanges / artistic mediation on Sunday, October 1st from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, as part of the Journées de la culture.
Very involved in the region, artist Tina Struthers specializes in combining fibers and textile elements in mixed techniques to create works that explore the ways in which organisms are modified by the forces of nature and their environment over time. Born in South Africa where nature is abundant, varied and sometimes dangerous, her work refers to her flora, fauna, geography and diversity. The Soixante 17 exhibition, which refers to the 60-inch measuring tape used by couturiers, the current year and its year of birth, is an introspection on textile construction, costume and creation. The goal is to share how the visual elements and objects, which we see and we choose to collect, form us.
