Leaving from Hudson, head west to Pointe-Fortune on a magnificent trail that follows the shore of the Ottawa River. Centuries ago, this stretch of water was the only way for trappers, missionaries, and colonialists to reach Upper Canada
Saturdays are a great day to take this trail, as cyclists can easily stop by Finnegan’s Market in Hudson, the legendary flea market full of antiques, locally-made arts and crafts, and food.
About 30 km after the start in Hudson, a quick u-turn on a gravel road in Ontario turns the trail back into Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Returning through Rigaud, a quick detour to the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes or the geological wonder that is the rock field (Le Champ du Diable).
From this point, cyclists can return to Hudson by going over the mountain (and get a great view of the region), or for a less strenuous ride, take chemin de la Mairie.
